How to choose a painting for your space
Wall, light and scale: three simple criteria to consider when choosing a painting.
A beautiful painting can look lost on the wrong wall. When choosing, I suggest looking at three things.
1. The size of the wall
A painting looks balanced when it fills about two thirds of the wall it hangs on. Above a piece of furniture, aim for two thirds of its width.
2. The light in the room
Cool, light tones come alive in rooms with plenty of natural light. In dimmer spaces, warm tones work well.
3. The feeling you want to live with
Most important is how you feel each time you look at it. If you are unsure, send a photo of your space and we will decide together.
